Learning Objectives:
1. Understand what a comprehensive acquisition plan should include, and how it fits in with customer's project plan.
2. Understand the importance of the line customer's project plan controls for scope, schedule, and cost, and how these fit in with the acquisition plan.
3. Understand what questions must be asked to determine the customer's requirements, and to identify key issues.
4. Understand how to use project planning tools and techniquest to manage your acquisition, and meet customer needs on schedule and within budget.
5. Acquisition plans are dynamic and evolve; however, tight control of scope growth, scheduled milesones, and costs are essential to mission successes.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Jo Cunningham
Jo Cunningham has been a Supply Chain Management Professional for over 28 years. She is a Certified Purchasing Manager through the Institute of Supply Management, and is the Executive Mentor (immediate Past President) of the Rio Grande Chapter of the National Contract Management Association. She served as a National Director, National Contract Management Association, FY 2003-2004.
Jo is a Distinguished Member of the Laboratory Staff at Sandia National Laboratories. She has been Acting Manager for Sandia's Corporate & Strategic Purchasing Department and is currently Prime Contract Administration and Cost Accounting Standards Advisor in Sandia's Corporate Contracts Organization.
Jo is the author of a comparison study of the Atomic Weapons Establishment in the U.K. She coordinated the Defense Systems & Assessments Center procurements with six other buyers, managed numerous classified procurements for two of Sandia's largest projects (current & planned procurements totaled approximately $65 million). She led a team to set up five multi-million dollar Contract Purchase Agreements (CPAs) incorporating both CPFF & T&M pricing terms.
